'EROSION', is a short drama, focusing on the complex family dynamics between Jiayu and her son Bingmo. After moving her son to the UK for his University Studies, Jiayu and Bingmo are forced to confront the difficulties in their distanced relationship as she helps him create a new home away from home.
This film was my University graduation film, and it was an incredible experience to be a part of creating this story. Editing a film entirely in mandarin as a native english speaker was an incredibly unique experience that helped me grow immensely as an editor.
This film so far has been very well received by audiences, and continues to touch people in a deeply humane way. I have won a Best editor award for this film at The University of the Arts 'Elephant Awards' - a film awards held by the University, as well as this film gaining Best director, Best Film, and the Audience award.
